Growing Challenges

Something happens to young people between childhood and adolescence. While healthy children display playfulness, creativity and overall authentic enthusiasm towards life, many teenagers and young adults tend to get bored, depressed and unsure about the meaning of life.

In the past, according to different anthropologists, indigenous societies from Australia to North America raised youth in traditional ways, preparing them and then initiating them to adulthood, making sure the community will continuously have responsible leaders and elders. In today’s society, many political, economical and social figureheads display immature characteristics, such as selfishness, greed, dishonesty and arrogance, failing to set a positive example for youth, and perpetuating the lack of true leadership.

To solve the grave problems of depression and lack of motivation, caused by the feeling that the the future would be worse than the present, we must create a dream full of inspiration for all, a vision of a better future, and provide hope. Hope could lead to solutions.

Imagin is a project that offers youth from different lands a new way to grow, know themselves, relate to others, and find a positive vision for the future. It involves elders as mentors and role models, and brings together people from Israel, Palestine, Romania, Cyprus and other countries.
